Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at jack.felbinger@safecircuittesting.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

An electrical safety test is like an annual health check for your home or business. It provides our technicians with an in depth look at your entire electrical distribution system.
Our advanced META testing technology allows us the ability to "see" what is going on behind the walls and truly know the status of your electrical safety.
We ensure all electrical wires, systems and components meet safety standards, in addition to detecting potential future hazards. When the test is completed, a report of findings along with other important information is given to the customer.  The National Electrical Code (NEC) is the code that all electricians operate under when examining your home, and defines the parameters for minimum standards across the United States.

SafeCircuit recommends that you make an appointment for an electrical safety test as soon as possible  to ensure that your home or business is safe from electrical and fire hazards. Then Twice a Year as routine Maintenance.

The following are also some  good times to have a META test done:

  • When trying to locate the source of an electrical problem
  • When you suspect ungrounded outlets
  • When there is a history of rodents
  • When reconfiguring lighting or appliances/ Adding an ELECTRIC CAR CHARGER
  • When opening a pool/hot tub for the season
  • When listing your home for sale
  • After a bad storm or electrical surge
  • After electrical work has been completed, to determine if it was done correctly

The Electrical Safety Foundation recommends that you make an appointment for an electrical safety test at these times:

  • When purchasing a home or business
  • When a home or business is 40 years or older
  • When adding an appliance
  • When a home or business has a renovation

An electrical safety test is important for the continued well being of your home or business. The law mandates that you keep such properties up to safety standards and in many states local legislation does as well. A META test can give you the peace of mind you need by:

  • Protecting your property
  • Protecting your own life and the lives of your family/employees/guests/pets
  • Protecting you from being sued
  • Ensuring the safe operation of all electrical components
  • Identifying common electrical mistakes made by contractors and previous DIY jobs
  • Recognizing outdated wiring such as aluminum or knob-and-tube
  • Identifying electrical wiring and components that may have degraded over time
  • Spotting oversized fuses or breakers that could lead to fire
  • Allowing for the correction of fire and safety hazard
  • Helping you save energy and reduce costs
  • Meeting insurance risk assessment inspections requirements
  • Letting you know the electric in a home is safe before you purchase it
